FAQs

When will my order ship?

Items are prepared for shipping within a maximum of 5 days but typically more quickly. I am not responsible for transportation delays or incidents caused by USPS, Canada Post or other shipping services. I do not provide refunds or re-send packages that are lost in the mail, particularly those traveling outside of Canada or the USA.

Most items ship in Canada within 7 business days and to the USA within 5 business days although all shipping times may vary during COVID19. International orders outside Canada/USA ship within 21 business days. All customers receive tracking numbers for their package so they can track the progress of their shipment. 

If you are purchasing items for delivery outside of Canada, please note your package may be subject to customs fees when it arrives.

Why are shipping costs estimated? 

Shipping costs are estimated using Canada Post. Every effort is made to obtain the cheapest shipping rate and, if I can save you money, I will refund any overages. The price you see is the highest cost estimate for your parcel for the type of shipping you have selected. If you want to know the exact cost prior to purchasing an item, please get in touch with at info(at)stainsbystudios(dot)com and I'll provide you with the exact price including shipping.

Do you offer contact-free local pickup?

Of course! If you prefer to save on shipping costs, you can pick up your order at my Toronto studio located near Yonge & Eglinton. Use coupon code "PICKUP" to remove the shipping costs from your total purchase price. . 

We can arrange for contactless pick up any time, just get in touch with me.

Do you offer refunds?

You are entitled to an exchange or refund within 14 days of your purchase. Please note that the product must be returned unused, and undamaged in re-sale-able condition. In case of refund, the original shipping cost will not be refunded. The buyer is responsible for any shipping costs related to an exchange.  

Do you do custom work? Do you accept commissions?

Beyond the personalized products offered by Stainsby Studios in the shop, I occasionally accept commissions on a very limited basis. I do not accept commissions during the busy holiday season from October to the end of December. Please send me an email at info(at)stainsbystudios(dot)com if you'd like to discuss a commission. 

Do you do offer products for wholesale?

Caring for your pottery

Each Stainsby Studios piece is hand made with cone 6 stoneware. Only food-safe glazes are used, ensuring the safe consumption of hot and cold food and drink in my products. 

To retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand-washing with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge in warm soapy water is recommended. However, the products are dishwasher safe. Avoid placing in extreme hot or cold environments such as an over or freezer, as this could cause thermal shock and result in fragility, cracking and/or breakage. 

Is your work microwave safe?

Any pieces made with black clay are not recommended for the microwave as the microwaves heat the iron oxide stain used to create the colour. Pieces made of white or speckled clay are microwave safe.
