During COVID lockdown this past spring, I started working with Toronto artist Quincy Raby on a limited-edition line of ceramics inspired by elements from Quincy's body of work. This piece was made to complement Quincy's show Thank You For Destroying My Life at the Lyceum Gallery in October 2020. In this piece the sweeping lines and softness of the lips are juxtaposed with the tough functionality of the stoneware pottery. The work invites the viewer to consider the broad usefulness, beauty and expression of our mouths.
This platter is 9.25 in diameter and 1 in tall. It's durable and functional as it's made out of stoneware. It is also microwave and dishwasher safe. Like all Stainsby Studios products, this platter is glazed with non-toxic, lead-free, food-safe glazes.
This item is READY TO SHIP. If you can't wait to get your hands on it, select the local pickup option at checkout for contact-free porch pickup in Toronto near Yonge & Eglinton.
All Stainsby Studios products are handmade by me, Eleanor Stainsby, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and glazed with non-toxic, lead-free, food-safe glazes. Because each piece is handmade, they all possess their own individual character. Form, pattern & color will vary slightly with each piece. You can feel good about your purchase too: a portion of the proceeds from every purchase is donated to a local food bank.
Thank you for shopping small. <3
