During COVID lockdown in spring 2020, I started working with Toronto artist Quincy Raby on a limited-edition line of ceramics inspired by elements from Quincy's body of work. This piece was made to complement Quincy's show Thank You For Destroying My Life at the Lyceum Gallery in October 2020 and is the sole remaining piece available from our collaboration. In this piece the sweeping lines and softness of the lips are juxtaposed with the tough functionality of the stoneware pottery. The work invites the viewer to consider the broad usefulness, beauty and expression of our mouths.

Materials

Artisan crafted from white speckled stoneware made from Canadian clay. Non-toxic, lead-free, food-safe glaze. Designed, hand painted, and handmade in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
