Hugo French Butter Dish

This one-of-a-kind ceramic French butter keeper is handmade from speckled clay by Stainsby Studios and has a shiny white glaze. It holds approximately 1/2 cup of butter on the counter at room temperature, ready to spread.Load softened butter into the lid and try to avoid creating air pockets. Add water to the base to create a seal with the lid. Butter keepers work because the water prevents any bacteria in the air from getting into the cup and turning your butter sour. It is approximately 4 inches wide at its base and the lid is just over 3.5 inches wide. It is 3" high. It is microwave and dishwasher safe. Like all Stainsby Studios products, this dish is glazed with non-toxic, lead-free, food-safe glaze. The speckled white glaze makes a beautiful addition in minimalist kitchens, or a neutral accent for those who like to live boldly.
